Xiamen
so this holiday I went for a 2-weeks trip
and without my parents!!
freedom!!!
I went with a few of my relatives
some of the pictures are kinda blurry
something wrong with my camera
that's why most of the photos are in my cousin's camera
but then...i forgot to take it from them
so...i'll just post this part up first
if not it's going to take a very long time
~Day 1~
Our first stop was Xiamen
We flew to Hong Kong first then transit to Xiamen
don't remember why....

take off~~~
when we first arrived at the Hong Kong airport
we encountered a tiny problem
already?!?!?!
yea.....

there were 2 oldies following us on our trip
my grandma and great-aunt(??)
their legs were weak so they needed wheelchairs
so from the plane to the counter they had wheelchairs
turns out you can't push the wheelchairs by yourself
one of the workers has to push it...so they take the boarding passes too
so when we reached the counter..the 2 workers left
after a long time..they didn't come back
my aunt was like in a way quarreling with the counter ppl
cause we didn't have alot of time to spare
we had to take another flight to Xiamen again..
we have to makan lagi le
and the counter lady was kinda pissed
she was like arguing with another customer just before us
in the end it all worked out la..
but that left a bit of a bad impression

best thing about airports~~
free internet!!!!!!!
when we reached Xiamen..it was already night
and we finally got a chance to feel the weather
and it was damn nice!!!
the outside is like totally stepping into an air-con room
quite cool

we stayed at the Lujiang hotel
just by the harbour

hotel lobby
I'm sure some of you still remember my cute little cousin
suppose if you were in F4C then you'd remember

hotel restaurant by the roof
hotel was ok....
though it's rated 4-star...totally not!!
and then...another incident
my uncle wanted to change one of the rooms
cause well...the doorknob broke!!
we were all staying in one floor
the only room available on the same floor was a suite
so obviously..the hotel didn't want to give it
so my uncle was like...freaking shouting!!!
we were on the 1st floor
you can hear his screaming way down in the lobby
it was crazy..
in the end of course they got the suite
customer's always right yo!!
~Day 2~
we woke up super early..
i shared a room with 3 of my cousins
so 4 ppl in a room...
not that comfortable...
we went to Gu Lang Yu Island
just 5 min from Xiamen by boat
there were very many weird statues there...

we sat on a buggy and toured around the island
the tour guide pointed this island out
what kind of animal does this remind you of??

crocodile!!!
it does look a bit like it i suppose

looks like a nice place to have afternoon tea
then we reached this park full of statues

arm wrestling existed even long ago

this guy is making that sweet thing
forgot what it's called
those selling in stalls
they make it into shapes of all kinds

nice hair cut dude~~
there was also this place..
like a small shop
where they make tea for you
chinese tea obviously...all free
they brew it...you drink it
convince you to buy some
you know..those kinds of store
marketing strategy...gotta hand it to them
we did buy some tea
and they gave us this clay sort off dolls
and it squirts water when you pour hot water over it
the picture is in my cousins camera
so hopefully i can get it soon

Beach!!!!!
there were quite a lot of ppl here
and yet another incident...
we met a 'crazy' guy there
he was shouting at us
for god knows what reason...
and we couldn't even understand him
lol!!!
but the people there was saying that he wasn't really crazy
he always asks for money or something
so maybe that was a plan to get some money or something
like maybe he has a partner somewhere close by
he was just distracting us while his partner 'takes' some money
no idea....
after our visit to Gu Lang Yu Island
we went back to the city
and went to this street which I can't remember the name
I think it was 'Zhongshan Road'
just went around...window shopping
didn't get much stuff in Xiamen

should not have stood next to a guy...
i look so short

christmas atmosphere all around

strawberry candy!!!
it's strawberry dipped in sugar syrup
you can eat the paper too
tasted damn good
but i think the best food i ate in Xiamen would be....
the muachi they sold in one of the street vendors

(both photos courtesy of google...but its the exact same thing
i think it should also be in Xiamen)
oh...and also~~

haagen daz!!!!
my little kid cousin got so freaking scared that night
his dad kept teasing him about the old 'crazy' dude
so this was what happened...
he was sharing a room with my 2 other cousins
and then when they were about to sleep...
my little kid cousin suddenly said he saw 'something'
those 3 got like freaking scared!!!
one of my cousins came knocking into our room
they didn't dare sleep in their room anymore
and we got pretty scared too
it was...a mess
but then..eventually we calmed down
we had some 'protection' things
so...it was ok then
5 ppl sharing a room...
even more comfortable
overall I would say...not planning to go back to Xiamen
there really wasn't much to see or do
and the food....blech~~
but then again...personal opinion
only went there for 2 days
and without my parents!!

Pre Uni stress~~
it's the start of school today
it feels weird not going to school
and guess what
i went to MD just now to do my personal statement
and MD has started work on the new building!!
its located at the parking space in front of the library
so like that parking space is gone!!
where do people park their cars you ask...
at the back...
the field next to the library..behind HEU block
that has been filled with concrete and has become a parking space
no pics(when is there ever??)
sorry...go see for yourself
update on my ucas thing
i might change my first choice to Economics and Finance
instead of just plain Economics
because...UBD has Economics
which...MOE now is no longer offering scholarships to
unless you go to top unis..and i MEAN top
i don't think i can get into top unis
i just found out my predicted grades today
and it was a freaking ABB!!!!
WTH!!!
i know ABB is a good grade already
and some people might wanna smack me for saying this
*looks at jas*
but it's just not good enough
i would be happy with that grade if i wasn't hoping for a scholarship
not that i can't get one..i still might be able to
but just because i need to go to LSE
which requires a freaking AAA
thus me changing my first option to Economics and Finance
UBD doesn't offer it..so MOE would give me a scholarship
but still..i am applying to UCL
which also requires an AAA grade...
so whatever it is...
i need an AAA...or at the very least an AAB
i know some of you might think that i set my goals too high...
but that's how my family is
or rather...that's how i am
i really don't want to disappoint my parents
thought they disappoint me all the time
ok...so maybe i am pressured by the fact that..
they expect me to get roughly the same grade as my brother...
which is something that is impossible for me!!
i need his brain...
i really don't understand how he studies...
he uses the computer all the time
all day...everyday
and there's the matter of the personal statement
i really think my personal statement is like crap
even though my dad has helped me with the English and all
but the content is so...how should i say it
very textbook??
or something like that
my teacher says that I'm not showing my passion in the statement
maybe i don't really have a passion for Economics??
I'm not really sure...
I mean..i know that i don't want to be doing accounting for the rest of my life
I know that i want to do something that involves Maths..
or rather..the calculating stuff and all the formulas
which i love***
and Economics does have econometrics
which is those Maths-y stuff
haizzz...
this is just all really stressing me out
i wish i could just no go to UK and just go to Australia
which i could...
but..my brothers are both in UK
and I personally would prefer UK
just cause..
and it would be much easier since my brothers would be there
they can show me the ropes on some stuff
and then i suppose it would be easier for my parents
i mean...if they wanted to visit us
just come to UK
whereas...if i go to Australia
it would be harder...
in a way that..if they wanted to spend CNY with us
if they go to UK..they would be spending it with my brothers only
whereas if they go to Australia..they would be spending it with me only
so it kinda separates us...
i can't really put this in words..
cause i really don't know how
it's all so hard
and to add to another of my problems..
i can't find a job!!!
this is all just not working out for me
what a way to start the new years
it feels weird not going to school

Home sweet home~~
I'm back from holidays!!!
feels great to be back home...
though I'm gonna miss sharing a room with my cousins
so I went to quite a few places during my holiday
Xiamen, Kinmen, Hong Kong and Macau
I went with a few of relatives...15 people total
it was kinda hectic sometimes...
especially considering the amount of luggage that we had
I totally had a lot of fun during the trip
It's the first time I've traveled without my parents
and I would say I had a lot more freedom that way
hahhahah
pictures and the whole summary of my trip will be up soon
as soon as i get the other pictures from my cousins
didn't get to do a lot of shopping
didn't have enough time to
so...I didn't get any souvenirs for you guys
I'm so sorry!!!
I was expecting to do a lot more shopping than I did
but...I really couldn't
wish I could extend my trip
but..we had to come back for the 'tang yuan' thing
so....really sorry guys!!
hopefully I'll be able to post about my trip real soon
look forward to it!!

Hopefully a night to rememeber~~
We are going to....
A Masquerade party!!!!
on Wednesday....
So cool...
Never been to one of these
Hopefully...it'll be a fun night

(Obviously not the actual invitation)
The two masks reminds me of 'Courage the Cowardly Dog'
I remember there was a really creepy episode where he was doing puppets or something
It wasss creeepy....
I love the mysterious theme of masquerade parties
and there's always the love affair..
A mysterious guy wearing a mask comes and asks to dance
And when it's time to take off the masks....
It turns out to be the person you like
Or something like that
It's always in the movies that we see this kinds of stuff
Never in real life
hahahah..
If that happens in real life it'll be so cool
But the one problem...
Where to find a mask??
Especially here in Brunei
It's time to go hunting for masks tomorrow

WHAT AN ASS~~
so my mum got back from KL on sat
and apparently...there's a piece of news about Sultan
everyone there knows it and no one here knows it...
not sure if this rumour is true or not....
its just something going around
apparently..his majesty is building another palace in kl somewhere
the construction has been going on for some time already...
i think it was about halfway done...
that he decides to demolish it and rebuild!!!
that's a total waste of money..
why would he need another palace..
when he already has one there
again...this may or may not be true..
so..kl people!!
have you guys heard anything about this?
on a separate contradicting note..
the reason why i titled this post 'what an ass'
is cause..this guy is such an ass
this video is bound to circulate soon
i mean...we do sometimes diss our own country..
but we don't call the sultan an ass
so he likes to spend money..
though bad..at least we get free stuff in the country
and plus*****
Brunei is NOT in the Middle-East
why don't he do some research before publicly dissing someone..
and a sultan at that fact...
we are Brunei DARUSSALAM!!!
not Brunei..we have a 'Darussalam'
Abode of Peace...
and good to see alot of Bruneians commenting on the video
hahahha

A new addiction~~
they're looking good~~
Big Bang
'Koe wo Kikasete'
a new addiction of mine!!
i cannot get enough of them
i especially like T.O.P and GD in the mv
they're just so...mysterious~~
especially T.O.P!!!
i remember last time when i watch the 'haru haru' mv
i wasnt as 'fong' about them as i am now
so i didnt now who was who
so i mistook T.O.P for Taeyang
so all those times when i said i liked taeyang...
i was actually talking about T.O.P
hahahahhaha
stupid me~~
too bad T.O.P doesn't sing much...
he's singing is not bad....
the only time he sang was the song 'As if nothing's wrong'
i think thats the title...
there're alot of titles because of the translation
when he performed this at their 'GREAT' concert
his performance was really damn cool!!
acting and singing~~
aaaaaaaaa~~~~
TOP!!!!!!
hahah...im crazy liao~~
forgot to mention***
he wrote this song for his ex-gf!!
both the songs he wrote was for her...
gandong o not~~
the other song is 'a good man'
very nice also~~
i would definitely run back to him if i were her
hahahhah...dreaming much
but then...if she was still together with him..
i think the fans would be stalking her and blackmailing her man
fans are just crazy~~
like when Top kissed Lee Hyori on stage in a performance
fans we're crying all over...
even before he was about to kiss her...
fans were already screaming 'DON'T DO IT'
hahha..guess they knew what was coming
they're so crazy over him!!
so am i!!!
hahaha
